K'mai

K'mai

}:Good evening, Sebeth.:{ Teyrabth told the blue, with the same languid air he adapted for most any communication. }:Mine extends the same greeting, and an offer of cards, perhaps, if Yours is willing.:{

After a brief pause, the blue answered. }:Mine would be happy to join yours. What time?:{

}:Mine says.. after the dinner candlemark?:{ Teyrabth relayed. }:He says that he will provide wine or ale, if Yours prefers. Or juice.:{

}:K'mai says wine sounds nice. He'll be there.:{

The bluerider arrived a bit later than he intended to, but no so late that it was rude. "I brought snacks!" He held the small tray up as he entered.

"Hey there." H'kami grinned, waved a jaunty greeting as he rose, moved toward the table. "Oooh snacks-- excellent!" he enthused. "Red wine? Or white? I got both."

"Red sounds good." K'mai set the snacks down. "What are we playing? Strip poker?" he teased.

H'kami snorted, even as he fetched two glasses, and the requested bottle of red wine. "Don't tempt me." He responded, lightly. "Nah, I was thinking just a few rounds of dragonpoker or something." He added. "Open to suggestions, though!"

"Dragonpoker sounds fine," K'mai said with a chuckle. "Besides, I don't need an excuse to take my clothes off."

"Don't have to work hard to convince me, either." H'kami laughed in amusement, offered K'mai one of the glasses before he settled down at the table. He set down his own glass, picked up the cards and shuffled them deftly.

"Course, it's got way too cold for me not to have _some_ way to stay warm, if someone wants me shedding all my layers." He added. "Even if I'm getting used to the outdoor chill."

K'mai took a sip of wine. "I'm beginning to think you invited me here for something other than cards." The look on his face said that didn't bother him at all.

H'kami laughed again, started to deal out two sets of cards. "Believe it or not, my intention _was_ cards." He said cheerily. "I like a good game as much as anyone. But I'm also not opposed to any sort of good time. Half the time I'm winging it, y'know?"

"I'm very much in favor of 'let's see where the evening takes us'," the bluerider said as he picked up his cards.

"Same." H'kami agreed easily, and scooped up his own cards. "... So. How've you been?"

"Good. Old friends, new friends, parties . . . plenty to keep me busy," K'mai said. "Oh hey. Do you know Z'kim? He's at Dream's End."

"Z'kim, Z'kim... Oh! Yeah, I know him! Warroth's rider, right?" H'kami grinned. "He's a friend of yours?"

"Yeah. We met at Dolphin Cove after that scandalous dance with N'vanik. The first one, before they kissed." K'mai started sorting his cards.

"Z'kim definitely isn't bad looking." H'kami said, amused. "I know Teyrabth’s chased his Warroth once or twice. Meeting at a Hatching though, that sounds like one of those Harper tales." He gathered up his own cards.

"Dragonriders meet at Hatchings all the time," K'mai said with a little laugh. "Poor Teyrabth, if he had to compete with Loseth."

"Still makes for a good story." H'kami responded, and shrugged lightly, took another sip of his wine. "Oh, Tey's not one to sulk for long before he's after another pretty set of wings." He added. "Between you and me, I prefer greenflights. Less complicated, y'know."

"Does Teyrabth chase golds?" K'mai picked two cards and discarded them.

"He does." H'kami confirmed, looking over his cards again. "Though I've never taken him to other Weyrs intentionally or otherwise to chase queens there." He added hastily. "So.. just twice. And he's never won." A half-shrug. "Honestly, seems like too much responsibility, getting tangled up with a gold."

"Oh, yeah. My friend L'keri, his brown caught Galgaith, and there was a lot of fuss and drama. Poor guy had to dress up nice and talk to lords and ladies."

H'kami shook his head. "Don't get me wrong, I'd support any gold and rider Tey was lucky enough to catch, but... not really my style, honestly." He repeated, with a self deprecating laugh. "At least, the talking to Lords part. I don't mind dressing up, if there's an actual reason for it."

"I like dressing up a little sometimes, too, for Hatchings and Gathers," K'mai said. "So, if we're not stripping, what are we betting?"

"Hm." H'kami considered. "I'm not opposed to stripping. For this round though... loser owes winner a bubbly pie?"

K'mai laughed. "That sounds good. Maybe we can start betting clothes after we get to the second glass of wine." He winked and took a sip.

"Sounds like a plan." H'kami grinned again, lifted his own glass toward K'mai in a mock toast and then took another sip of his own. "Good vintage, right?"

"It is. Did you buy this, or have you charmed the kitchen staff already?" the bluerider asked.

H'kami winked at him. "Trade secret." He responded playfully. "Though I can say, at least, I can definitely get more if you like."

"Ooh, save me a bottle or two for my birthingday. It's next month, on the sixteenth. You're invited to my party _and_ the orgy that happens later that night." K'mai winked.

H'kami beamed. "That sounds _amazing_." He enthused. "Count me in. And definitely I'll bring you two bottles, handsome. Consider it a birthingday gift?"

"Perfect." K'mai laid down his cards, which were fairly mediocre. "I think you have a pretty good chance at that bubbly pie."

H'kami grinned. "Don't worry. I can share." He teased, and flourished his own cards-- the winning set.
